Trena White has built a company, and a life, that refuses the trade-off between ambition and everything else that matters. She is co-CEO of Page Two, the publishing company she launched in 2013 with Jesse Finkelstein. Page Two publishes non-fiction by entrepreneurs, leaders, and experts and helps them reach readers in ways that grow their businesses and expand their influence. Page Two has published more than 500 books that have topped bestseller lists and won most major book awards — including category-defining titles like The Coaching Habit and Exactly What to Say, which have sold well over a million copies and been translated into dozens of languages.
Trena’s path into publishing began at McClelland & Stewart (now an imprint of Penguin Random House), followed by editorial and acquisitions roles across the industry before she and Jesse set out to build something different: a publisher whose books help both readers and authors grow. She and Jesse were finalists for the RBC Women Entrepreneur Awards, and she serves on the editorial advisory board of the Independent Book Publishers Association.
Page Two is known for its excellence and care, with designers and editors who are award-winners and recognized leaders in their fields — a culture Trena counts among her proudest achievements.
She thinks constantly about how work and family shape each other, and how to sustain creativity under real pressure. A widow raising and homeschooling two kids, she treats that not as separate from her work but as the context she brings to every decision she makes as a leader. She lives and works in Roberts Creek, B.C., on the unceded territory of the shíshálh and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh peoples.
